Cosmo Sheldrake – The Much Much How How and I (2019)

Worst music that you will hear in a long time. I’m serious!
Music, as all art in general, is all about inspiration. Here inspiration is completely and painfully lacking, from start to finish. At any point in any song any sound that is played could be replaced by any other sound (within harmonic boundaries) and nothing would actually change, for better or for worse. Author orders notes, sounds, drums, his voice and rusty circus trumpets (which he particularly likes, along with Waltz rhythm) in sequences that make no meaning. For lack of a better word I am calling them chunks. He is careful to switch chunk’s tempo or measure or harmony or all of them as often as possible, probably to increase drama or to avoid boredom but what he succeeds in is mostly to increase your irritation. Unfortunately these chunks relate to each other so little that you start to think that sound of a thousand frogs in the swamp is much more contemplated and meaningful. Many chunks resemble some music that you have heard before. Mostly no chunk that follows has anything to do with the chunk that precedes it. Imagine taking some pages from different newspapers and randomly cutting parts out of them then taking randomly only some of the clippings and finally gluing them together into a patchwork but doing it behind your back and without looking. Now read it and enjoy.
You got the idea? Don’t waste your time.
